A ceremony to commemorate the tragedy 'Double Six' of the crashed plane crash on 6 June 1976 at 3.50pm. The Nomad aircraft crash during its flight back from Labuan, killing 11 people including Tun Datuk Hj. Mohd. Fuad Stephens, Sabah's Chief Minister.

12 - 13 June 9th Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival

Sway to great jazzy tunes performed annually by a line-up of international artists and hugely talented local acts while contributing to the community in this fundraising extravaganza. 13 - 14 June 2nd FCAS Dragon Boat Race

Organised in conjunction with the Duan Wu festival, this Chinese tradition has evolved throughout the years into one of the main sporting events in Sabah. The 2nd Sabah FCAS International Dragon Boat Race 2015 continues to see the participation of both local and international teams as they race to beat the drum. There will also be an interesting line-up of activities including a dumpling making competition, photography contest and lion and dragon dance performance.

The Borneo Bird Festival will be held at the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC), Sepilok Sandakan, Sabah. The RDC is a centre for environmental education situate within the famous Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve for the birding enthusiasts there will be photography competition, bird race, guided birding walks, bird song mimic contest and games for children, various photo exhibit of birding and conservation work in Malaysia.

17 - 18 October 29th Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon - Adventure Series

Mountain runners from around the world convene at the 29th Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon - Adventure Series to take on the majestic Mount Kinabalu. There are 2 routes to choose from: The 1st option is the 23km route that starts from Kinbalu Park to the summit trail of Layang-layang, down to Mesilau and ending at Kundasang town. This category is open to all. However, only qualified participants can register for the 2nd route, which takes them from Kinabalu Park all the way to the summit of Mount Kinabalu before concluding at Kundasang town.

24 - 25 October Tamu Besar Kota Belud

The Tamu besar is the biggest traditional open-air market held in Sabah. Organised annually in Kota Belud, the Tamu Besar is a plethora of smells, sights and sounds as vendors proudly set up their stalls to sell a variety of goods, ranging from fresh produce to traditional handicraft. The main highlights of this event include buffalo race, the crowning of the Ratu Sarempak (Sarempak Queen) and a colourful parade of horses and Bajau horsemen, known as the Cowboys of the East. This is one tamu not to be missed!

November TMBT Ultra Trail Marathon 55K/100K 2015

The 5th TMBT Ultra Trail Marathon will see 800 competitors taking on a 6500 metre total ascent over a 100 kilometre race course in what is rated as the toughest ultra in the country. As the original ultra-trail marathon of Malaysia, and a 3 point qualifying race for the Ultra Trail Du Mont Blanc 2016, the TMBT Ultra Trail Marathon is designed for experienced ultra-trail runners looking for challenging race courses and desire to finish over some of the most beautiful tracks along Mount Kinabalu.

November 18th Sabah Hospitality Fiesta 2015

This fiesta, which was initiated by students of ATIC (Asian Tourism International College) under supervision of lecturers in 1997, aims at creating an enthusiastic spirit of competition among the tourism and hospitality industry players to showcase their talents in the industry. In year 2006, MAH Sabah/ Labuan Chapter offically collaborated with ATIC in organizing this annual event.
